Mia Dimšić, Croatia’s Eurovision 2022 representtative, just dropped her debut English album, “Monologue.” Mia is very honest in her music, navigating through moments of sadness and destruction to euphoric and somewhat naive episodes.
According to her, “Monologue is my first record in English and a big dream come true. All its tracks were written in the last two years, but in my head it has existed much, much longer. Monologue was named after its first and last song, but also the idea that every song I write is a snippet of my constant inner monologue. Sometimes it’s sad and destructive, sometimes euphoric and naive, sometimes it’s completely random, but at the end of the day, all that matters to me is that it’s honest. I hope the listeners feel that as well.”
Damir Bačić and Vjekoslav Dimter, the masterminds behind the album alongside Mia herself, have crafted a musical setting that perfectly complements Dimšić’s vocals and storytelling. The lyrics are poignant, exploring the complexities of love and self-discovery. Dimšić’s voice, hauntingly beautiful and sweet, adds depth to each song, making this musical journey palpable for the listener.
Mia’s ability to make songs that resonate on such a personal level makes this a compelling addition to the pop and country-pop genres. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors!
